Nesting Turkey Vultures reveals vultures surprising nesting choice inside Oak tree cavities, and scientist Greg Guisti's related research.
Goal: University California's Agriculture and Natural Resources division wanted to increase general public visitation to their Hopland Research and Extension Center.
To achieve this aim they sought to increase awareness of the center's important scientific work.
Outcome: 3 minute short videos publicized a year long series of successful public events, contributing to an increase in visitor numbers.
Approach: Research findings showed that the general public are inspired by the awe and wonder in nature but can be intimidated by overly academic information.
Sourcing visually engaging science projects, the video draws out the emotional angle, asking scientists why they felt so passionate about their work.
