UNIVERSITY CALIFORNIA
BEAUTIFUL MALARIA
NESTING TURKEY VULTURES
Approach
Two short videos, 'Beautiful Malaria' and 'Nesting Turkey Vultures' were developed to generate greater public awareness of the University California Hopland wildlife center and its research work.
Testimonial
“Flora Skivington worked with the UC Hopland Research and Extension Center to create two short videos expressing complex scientific studies into easily digestible short films that encourage community engagement with science. Flora not only worked with us to create the films, working closely with the scientists to understand their work and help them to address aspects that were of particular public value, but also considered with our staff how these films could be best shared and created versions that were applicable to various social media platforms. Working with Flora was a great pleasure and the results allowed public engagement in a way that would not have been possible otherwise.” Community Educator, UC Agriculture and Natural Resources.
